Guardians of the City (GOTC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of San Francisco’s First Responders. The GOTC First Responders Museum was founded as the San Francisco Fire Department Museum in 1964. It houses a wonderful collection of artifacts, beginning with the Gold Rush-era Volunteer Fire Dept through to the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake and beyond.
